Changes to EU Shipping for BLKOUT
We have some unfortunate news for our European BLKOUT customers.
New European packaging and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) rules have made selling directly to customers across the EU considerably more complicated. In practice, we can be required to register, report and pay separately in each country we ship to.
For a large company shipping thousands of parcels, those costs can be spread across a lot of orders. For a small independent distributor like us, shipping a handful of BLKOUT orders to a country each year, that simply doesn't work.
Because of this, we have stopped direct BLKOUT shipping to most EU countries. At the moment, we can ship directly to customers in the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom.
So how do you get BLKOUT?
Thankfully, this doesn't mean BLKOUT has to disappear from your country.
The rules work differently when we supply a retailer that buys BLKOUT for resale. This means we can still ship BLKOUT to hobby shops and retailers throughout the EU, who can then make the game available to players locally.
And that's the route we want to take.
As things stand today, it's the best way we have to keep BLKOUT moving throughout Europe without adding unreasonable compliance costs to a relatively small number of individual orders. At the same time, we'd much rather see that money going into the European hobby shops that actually build and support local gaming communities.
So if you want BLKOUT and we can no longer ship directly to your country, talk to your local hobby shop. Tell them you want BLKOUT.
They can contact us directly for retailer pricing, availability and ordering. We're actively looking for more European shops that want to carry the game.
The more shops that join the network, the easier it becomes for players to find BLKOUT locally — which is ultimately a much better way for us to grow the game in Europe anyway.
Are you a retailer interested in BLKOUT? Get in touch with us directly and we'll help you get started.
